5 Signs That You Are Already Dehydrated
Did you know that your body is made of approximately 75-80% water?
Common signs that may indicate that you are already dehydrated include:
dizziness and/or lightheadedness
Moreover, dehydration impacts your metabolism, stress hormones and waistline! Mild dehydration (a mere 1-2% dehydration) can raise your stress hormone levels causing you to store more fat around your waist. It also causes sugar cravings and leaky gut.
Staying hydrated with water can boost your metabolism and burn fat as well as assist your body’s natural detox abilities, thwart fatigue and prevent dehydration related symptoms like headaches.
How do you know if you are dehydrated? Well, if you are thirsty that’s typically a signal that you are already dehydrated.
In general, most people should aim for about ½ of their body weight in ounces daily (so if you weigh 150 pounds, that would be 75 ounces of water per day), give or take depending on your activity level and climate. Another indicator is the color of your urine - it should appear almost clear to a very pale yellow (unless you are taking B-vitamins in which case you’ll normally see a vibrant yellow).

8 c spring water
1/2 lemon, sliced
2 t. fresh rosemary
4 t. fresh mint leaves
Place lemon and herbs in a small cotton muslin bag or stainless steel herbal tea ball and place into a glass pitcher of spring water. Infuse overnight (on the countertop for room temperature water or in the refrigerator for chilled water. The next day, enjoy sipping your herbal-infused water that is both healthy and refreshing!
